Su-Poshan Project
Introduction:The Su-Poshan Project, supported by Misereor and implemented by Srishti Seva Sansthan (SSS), aims to improve the nutritional status of children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers in 10 targeted villages. This report covers the project's progress from 1st Oct,2015- 31st Mar, 2019
Project Setting:The project is being implemented in 10 villages, targeting 2,574 households and a population of 16,330. The beneficiary profile includes a detailed breakdown of the population by gender, caste, and age.
Project Implementation and Objectives:During the reporting period, the project focused on activity implementation and target setting. Key achievements include:
- Identifying 2,604 households through a baseline survey.
- Sensitizing and referring malnourished children to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC).
- Forming and strengthening 11 Community-Based Organizations (CBOs).
- Training 33 CBO leaders on nutrition and 68 frontline workers on nutrition and engagement.
- Implementing nutritional tree plantation in 1,000 households.
Results:The project has shown positive initial results, including:
- Mapping 2,604 households in the baseline survey.
- Forming 11 Nari Sanghs with 1,065 members.
- Identifying 48 malnourished children and referring 7 to the NRC.
- Screening 62 pregnant women for anemia and improving the status of 16.
- Promoting water-saving agricultural practices for ecological conservation.
Conclusions and Lessons Learned:
The project is in its early phase, and while initial results are positive, lessons learned and areas for improvement will be determined in the next reporting period. The project will continue to focus on implementing activities, achieving objectives, and promoting sustainable livelihoods and nutritional practices.
