CHILDLINE Programme Maharajganj UP
Srishti Seva Sansthan, a sub-centre organization, implemented the CHILDLINE programme in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. The program aimed to provide a 24/7 emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection.
During the reporting period, the organization received a call, including cases of shelter, repatriation, and emotional support. The team conducted village-level camps, administering vaccinations and providing awareness on COVID-19 and CHILDLINE services.
The organization faced several challenges, including dual citizenship issues, lack of vaccination cards, and limited internet connectivity. Despite these challenges, the team achieved significant success, with 100% household surveys and data uploaded on Vax-IT.
The organization conducted various awareness programs, including meetings with PRIs, pamphlet distribution, and street meetings. The team also participated in outreach programs, including phone testing, to strengthen the call-based case intervention.
Capacity building of staff was a key focus area, with four capacity-building programs organized during the year. The staff participated in training sessions on schemes and provisions of the ICPS, major challenges, and encountered plans.
The organization conducted open house programs, which provided a platform for children to express their issues and concerns. The team also conducted innovative outreach programs, including Theatre of the Oppressed shows, to create awareness on CHILDLINE services.
Two case studies highlighted the organization's intervention in cases of child labour and child marriage. The team worked closely with stakeholders, including PRIs, police, and health officials, to ensure the protection and care of children.
The organization acknowledged the support of CHILDLINE India Foundation and the District Administration in implementing the program. The report concluded with a commitment to continue providing emergency outreach services to children in need of care and protection.
