Srishti Seva Sansthan, a non-governmental organization based in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, has been working to promote the right to live by addressing inequality and injustice in society. The organization was established in 2000 by a group of like-minded individuals who shared a common vision of working for the rights of marginalized communities. Srishti Seva Sansthan has worked on various issues, including reproductive, maternal, child, and adolescent health, gender, women empowerment, child protection, HIV/AIDS awareness, livelihood, education, and agriculture. The organization's activities range from advocacy and implementation to mapping, community mobilization, and capacity building, focusing on vulnerable sections of society. One of the areas where Srishti Seva Sansthan has been actively working is Kushinagar district, located in the northeastern region of Uttar Pradesh. The district is known for its agricultural production, with major crops including paddy, wheat, sugarcane, and vegetables. However, despite its agricultural prosperity, Kushinagar faces several challenges, including a high population density, low literacy rates, and a significant presence of high-risk groups, including sex workers and men who have sex with men (MSM). In this project, we are working with migrant families, truckers' families, and others. The socio-economic condition of the targeted population in Kushinagar is alarming, with low literacy rates, poverty, and lack of awareness about HIV/AIDS contributing to high-risk behavior. Migration to different cities, such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Punjab, is also a significant factor increasing the vulnerability of the district. Srishti Seva Sansthan has been working to address these challenges through its various programs and activities. The organization has been working on women empowerment, livelihood, and adolescent empowerment in Maharajganj district for over two decades. Its work focuses on empowering socially and economically backward communities by promoting their self-initiatives for better education, health, and livelihood. The organization has also been working on HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support since 2012, with the support of the Uttar Pradesh State AIDS Control Society. It has also partnered with various organizations, including Tata Trust, Hindustan Unilever Foundation, and Breakthrough Trust, to implement programs on women empowerment, agriculture, health, and adolescent empowerment. Overall, Srishti Seva Sansthan has been working tirelessly to promote the rights of marginalized communities, particularly in Kushinagar district. Its efforts to address the socio-economic challenges facing the district, including low literacy rates, poverty, and high-risk behavior, are expected to have a significant impact on the lives of thousands of people in the region.
